Primary Work Location: GOA Trailhead – Westcreek, Colorado (UTVS/Jeeps)

Secondary Work Location: GOA Store – Woodland Park, CO (Jeeps/Slingshots)

Hours: Variable based on booked guided tours, flexibility and desired hours – year-round

Compensation: $15/hour plus tips (Tips can range $20-$50/hr)

Employment Status: Independent Contractor (1099)

At Great Outdoors Adventures, we take pride in offering exceptional premium customer service and vehicles to all our guests.  This starts with a warm greeting when customers arrive. Company policies and procedures are essential to follow as part of this position. Customer safety and experience must be the sole focus of the guide during the entire experience. Leave your personal issues at home. Take pride in the condition of vehicles, facilities and equipment so customers feel comfortable. Your guide vehicle and fuel will be provided by GOA. Dress professionally, be polite and courteous.  Punctuality is critical along with good time management.  Don’t be surprised if you help “direct the show” on each tour, helping make sure things run smoothly. If you enjoy leading others in having an outstanding adventure experience, this is a good job for you.

Guides report to and are supervised by the Directors or Manager on Duty. Continuous feedback will be provided along with quarterly performance reviews.  Guides must be reliable, have good communication and time management skills. This is an on-call variable position. Hours of work per week depends on the number of guided tours booked and other needs of the company. There is an opportunity to assist with other GOA work and responsibilities. 

General Responsibilities

• Manage and communicate your work schedule through an online Google Sheet
• Review and communicate about guided tour bookings in Fareharbor. Make notes and changes as required/needed. 
• Monitor weather and manage accordingly
• Arrive on time and prepare vehicles/equipment. Use the Polaris Arrival App to properly check-out and check-in vehicles. Inspect vehicles for safe operation (fuel, tire pressure, cleanliness, oil, etc)
• Manage store/trailhead locations for safety & security
• Review customer waivers and complete customer paperwork
• Effective communication with GOA staff
• Greet customers
• Assign helmets, goggles, and other safety equipment
• Assist with vehicle recovery or emergencies (unlikely)
• Guide customers on tours as “follow the leader: or “ride along”
• Manage safety and customer experience during tour
• Provide interesting information during the tour
• Record tour video using the Relive App. Produce final video with the App and email to customer within 2 days.
• Manage tour schedule to stay on time
• Check vehicles back in and secure all vehicles, keys, equipment, etc
• Wrap up discussion with customers about the experience and to provide a review for GOA
• Close GOA property to assure all is secure
• Assist with vehicle, helmet and goggle cleaning during daytime hours
• Provide daily feedback to managers about customers or GOA operations
• Assist as guide for large group tours as assigned
• Record hours and tips daily through the Gusto Payroll App
• Other tasks as discussed and assigned

Required Skills & Personal Equipment

• Relatively new Cell Phone & Facebook Messenger App. (used for communication)
• Valid Email (for company notifications/important pay info)
• UTV Safety Certification (free online from ROHVA)
• Ability to record hours accurately through Gusto application or web browser
• Must be polite and courteous, with good communication skills
• Understand, use and explain company vehicles safely (training provided)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Flexible personal schedule (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
• Good outdoor clothing and footwear for rain and inclement weather
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Personal vehicle in good condition to/from travel to work locations. 

Desired Skills

• Previous guiding and customer service experience
• Experienced riding off-road vehicles in Pike National Forest
• Photography and app skills with your smart phone
• Emergency response experience including first aid & CPR

ADVENTURE SPECIALIST: Customer Service/Store/Sales

Description of job

The main responsibility of the Customer Service position is to interact professionally and cordially with Great Outdoors Adventures (GOA) guests. Completing rental reservations over the phone and walk-ins. As well, manage phone call communications to kindly assist our guests’ needs on trail rides. Motivation to multitask and attention to detail is essential for this position. This position requires working scheduled shifts, but flexibility is a plus in the dynamic business.

Job Duties:

• Welcome customers as soon as they arrive at the store
• Answer incoming calls in an effective and professional manner
• Build positive rapport with customers (effective sales) to complete reservations through Fareharbor
• Check-out and check-in vehicles to customers using a computer app. This is a detailed process that must be completed accurately.
• Provide detailed experience and safety information to customers and judge their ability to have a successful adventure
• Observe public use of the store property to ensure safety and security
• Ensure front office area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationary and material (e.g. computers, rack cards, maps, and TV’s)
• Respond politely and courteously to inquiry emails
• Manage store merchandise
• Always be positive and empathetic with customers
• Learn how to use cash register (Clover)
• Receive mail/deliveries (UPS and US Mail)
• Clean store as needed
• Wash, polish, and detail rental vehicles as needed (Slingshots, side-by-sides, Jeeps etc.)
• Occasionally assist guests at GOA trailhead locations (Westcreek)
• Other related task as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and experienced as customer service, sales, or similar role
• Attention to details and taking responsibility for customer success is essential
• Proficient at using computers, tablet computers and webpages
• Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers)
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to details
• Valid driver license (ability to drive stick-shift desired)
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to priorities tasks
• Highschool degree (college degree a plus)

Job Description: TRAILHEAD ASSISTANT

Work Locations:
GOA Trailhead – Westcreek, Colorado

Hours: 20 – 40 Hours per week, summer or year-round
Compensation: $14.81 – $16 per hour plus gratuities

Vehicles and other equipment must be maintained to the highest standard for customer convenience and safety. Exceptional customer service and communication are essential elements of assisting at the Great OutdoorsAdventures (GOA). This position requires clear communication of requirements and safety information tocustomers. The Trailhead Assistant reports to and is supervised by the Trailhead or Operations Managers.Training and work performance review will be provided continuously with job evaluation provided on a bi-weekly basis. Reliability and consistency in time management (i.e. being on time) is essential for this position.This is a part-time variable position. Hours of work per week depends on the number of customers booked and other needs of the company.

Maintenance & security responsibilities:

• Vehicle Inspection & Record Keeping (using an app), attention to detail is essential
• Clean Vehicles after each Use (wash, polish, dry), efficiently and thoroughly
• Clean goggles & helmets after each use, efficiently and thoroughly
• Trailhead cleaning & maintenance (facilities)
• Maintain other GOA equipment
• Vehicle maintenance & basic repairs

Customer Service Responsibilities

• Follow vehicle check-out and check-in procedures with attention to detail
• Vehicle operation instructions
• Safety tips & requirements
• Map orientation
• Assign helmets, goggles, and other safety equipment
• Assist with emergencies & vehicle recovery
• Guide customers on trail rides (after successful completion of guide training and probation period)
• The Trailhead Assistant is “on duty” while customers are riding. This duty can only be relieved with approvalfrom one of the Trailhead Manager. The Trailhead Assistant must be easy for customers to contact at all timeswhile “on duty.”

Consistent & Accurate Communication when On Duty

• Cell Phone – Facebook Messenger is used for regular communication
• Email
• Record time and detailed work notes daily, submit accurate time sheet bi-weekly
• Assist with weekly trailhead reports with items such as summary of customer incidents, work completed,needed supplies, recommendations, and lessons learned
